British singer-songwriter Mercury Prize winner James Blake brought his critically-acclaimed electronic music to Hong Kong on 23 January. Blake has played hit songs like Retrograde, Overgrown and The Wilhelm Scream.
The 80-minute of slow, heaven-like electronic tunes magically lead the audience to dance and shake. Some critics called Blake’s music as dustep which I think is a degraded terms to his music. It’s not cheesy at all which dustep is equivalent to. James Blake’s cool face certainly attracted a lot of female attendees as expected, though his concentration when looking at his keyboard and synthesizer did make him look very charming.
