As Hong Kong’s hottest musical event, Clockenflap brings world-class lineups to town every year. In 2014, we have the up-and-coming electronic band CHVRCHES, post-rock elites Mogwai, brit-pop representatives The Vaccines and Travis, pop rock delights The Raveonettes from Denmark and We Were Evergreen from France, disco kings Kool and the Gang, the hilarious and talented Tenacious D, critical-acclaimed extreme metal band Chthonic from Taiwan and psychedelic legend The Flaming Lips as the the final headliner.

2014年的表演嘉賓有火速冒起的電子樂隊 CHVRCHES,後搖精英 Mogwai,brit-pop 代表則有 The Vaccines 和 Travis,清新流行搖滾新秀、來自丹麥的 The Raveonettes 和法國的 We Were Evergreen, disco 殿堂組合 Kool and the Gang,充滿幽默和才華的 Tenacious D,享負盛名的台灣極端金屬樂隊閃靈,當然還有迷幻音樂的傳奇 The Flaming Lips 作為最終壓軸。

Clockenflap must have something for anyone. It seems their strategy is successful in attracting a more diverse attendees. From our observation, this year has drawn more local music fans and younger gig-goers like students.

The organizer also invites more local bands filling in the line-up, including our favorite Shepherds The Weak and top pop duo My Little Airport.

My Little Airport

Since The Umbrella Revolution is the hot topic of the time, audience and even the performers decide to use this moment to express their support through music, or as simple as raising a yellow umbrella.

Music is never about a note or melody, but a matter of social collision all along. Even the song itself might not be intended to be political, like Travis’ Why Does It Always Rain On Me?, the political message evokes in listener’s mind will add another layer of meaning to it.

Why Does It Always Rain On Me?,樂章便增加了另一層意義。
